MOFFOM is pleased to announce the results of the 2007 Competition for the Audience Choice Award, which is to be awarded to the Basque road movie "Nömadak Tx" (Spain, 2006)
The film will be presented again for Prague audiences at a special screening at Kino Světozor on Monday, 22 October at 8:30 p.m. The film is an examination of the role of the tradtional Basque instrument, the txalaparta, which is played by two people in communication. In the film, two musicians pursue this idea further and use this unique instrument to connect traditional cultures across the world
The statements of the filmmakers on receiving the news of the award are below. We congratulate both of them on their success with the film at MOFFOM and wish them the best of luck at upcoming festivals.
Gabon guztioei (good evening everybody, in Basque language)
We are very sorry because we can’t be with you tonight. Thank you very much to the audience for this special award, and also to MOFFOM for inviting us.
We want to give you a present, a Basque souvenir: a ticket to come with us on this trip.
We started searching the sounds of the earth and ended by making a song-film.
My only wish is that you spend a good time seeing Nömadak Tx, a song of freedom.
Osasuna (health)!
Thank you!

Director, Nömadak Tx
Gabon (good evening, in Basque language) to the audience of MOFFOM.
First of all thanks to the audience for the award and for giving us the opportunity to show the film again in the Czech Republic and to write to you these words.
I apologize for my English, but as you will see in the film, the best way we can talk is with music, so my English words perhaps will not be able to express what I want to tell you. And this is a very simple idea, but which was really complicated to become reality. I am talking about respect: this is what I want to tell you about. Because we made this film as our little contribution to have more respect for each person and every people around the world, respecting the individual and collective identities and the contribution of all to a world with different colors.
We would like to be there to play the txalaparta for you, but this would prove really difficult (as I’m writing this at 2 p.m. and the screening is in a few hours) but then again, you have the film. After seeing it I hope you will understand what I was trying to tell you...
Eskerrikasko, Thank you!!!
