Just some of the guests at this year’s MOFFOM: 

Morgan Neville (USA) is a long-time veteran of music cinema, Mr. Neville is well known to film audiences for his series of documentaries and television progams on subjects concerning the history of American roots music.    MOFFOM is pleased to present his latest, “Respect Yourself: the Stax Records Story” in its Czech premiere at two special screenings.

The experimental filmmaker Nicolas Humbert, co-director of "Step Across the Border" and visual artist Heike Liss, co-director of "Surface and Time" will both be on hand to present their work as part of the retrospective Tribute to Fred Frith section, the highlight of which will be a live concert of Fred Frith (UK) and Friends held in association with the Stimul festival at Divadlo Archa on Sunday, 21. 10 beginning with a MOFFOM screening at 19:00.  

The main music guests at MOFFOM 2007 include the Beth Custer Ensemble (San Francisco, USA) who will perform live accompaniment to the screening of the classic (and formerly banned) silent film comedy “My Grandmother” (USSR 1929) on Friday, 19.10 at 20:00 and Yuriy Gurzhy of Russendisko Soundsytem (Berlin, Germany) who will host a Russia-themed after-party the same evening, both events part of the Special Focus on Russia.  The following day, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglová, stars of the film “Once” will be on hand for the local distribution premiere of the film and will also perform a special acoustic concert in historic Kino Lucerna.
