Alongside Björk, Sigur Rós are probably the most well known of Iceland's music scene. Catch them next Tuesday, August 19th, at Prague's HC Sparta Praha stadium. Their performance will begin another series of meetings with the Nordic culture Midnight Sun Sessions. According to the exciting reviews Sigur Rós are generating on their current tour, they will be playing tracks from their new album „með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust“, as well as past favorites. The usual four-member group (guitar, bass, keyboard, drums) will be accompanied by a string quartet Amiina and five-member brass section from Jón Samúelsson Big Band. The musicians from both formations are well known for those who've seen the movie „Heima“, which was created during a series of Sigur Rós concerts in their native Iceland. The movie in high definition will be shown on the big screen at this year MOFFOM festival. We've included it into brand new section called Planet MOFFOM within other nonverbal and visual films. You could also find such films as Laya Project, created by musicians from some of the Asian countries, which were devastated by 2004' Tsunami. Middle of the Moment is a black&white film accompanied by beautiful music of last year MOFFOM tribute receiver Fred Frith.
