FIRST FILMS ANNOUNCED

In the section New York City, which is this year’s festival focus, we present the classic musical comedy The Producers (1968). The documentary A Great Day in Harlem brings to life a remarkable moment in the history of jazz - a moment when dozens of America's jazz legends unexpectedly gathered together in 1958 for a photograph that would become emblematic of the golden age of jazz. NY77: The Coolest Year in Hell tells the story of one of the most astonishing pop culture years in American history. Note by Note:The Making of Steinway L1037 is the story of a single Steinway grand piano constructed over the course of a year in the company's New York factory. Documentary premieres in the competition section are coming to the festival about famous bands like KISS: Kiss Loves You, Gogol Bordello: Gogol Bordello Non-Stop   Bela Fleck: Throw Down Your Heart.

Three cine-concerts are planned for the festival. Alexander Hacke & Danielle di Picciotto present their original audio-visual project Ship of Fools, Brno’s Ty Syčáci accompany the Buster Keaton’s classic comedy The Navigator and In The Nursery from UK play with the historic film La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc from 1928.
