MOFFOM is pleased to welcome legendary musician and composer Fred Frith as the honored guest of the 2007 festival. In addition to screenings of the acclaimed 1990 portrait film “Step Across the Border” and Thomas Riedelsheimer’s award-winning 2003 documentary “Rivers and Tides” which features an innovative score by Frith, MOFFOM will also present a special moderated screening of the ongoing experimental project “Surface and Time” by visual artist Heike Liss, also with music by Frith, in association with the Audiovisual series at Kino Světozor on 18 October.

A new film about Bi Kidude, one of the world's most unusual and charismatic musical talents, premieres in Prague this May.
No-one knows Bi Kidude's real age. She claims to be 113 years old, though the makers of As Old as my Tongue believe she's no older than 97. She is, at any rate, certainly the world's oldest living performer.

Summer is over and Fall is here which means it is the season of MOFFOM! The 2008 festival will again offer a large and diverse program for film and music lovers October 16th-20th. The festival will take place at the same locations as in previous years Lucerna, Svetozor and Evald. We are preparing a new website with added features so please be patient. Ticket sales start now at all TicketPro branch offices. Starting on October 15th, tickets will also be available at the box offices of Lucerna, Světozor and Evald cinemas. Tickets to all films at all venues are available at any cinema or Ticketpro branch office.

For the sixth time, the Prague Bollywood Festival will once again take place in Prague. Over 40 films will be screened from October 6-12, 2008 in theaters Evald (October 6-8) and Svetozor (October 9-12). MOFFOM will screen the Laya Project film at the Bollywood film festival - 10.10. at 16.00 hod. at the small hall of the Svetozor cinema.
Kid Lucky, head of beatbox production company Beatboxer Entertainment, is making his first trip to Prague to participate in the HOP'n'NOB project, mainly to join the album release party at Archa theatre and also threw the first Prague Hip Hop Subway Series at Prague's metro. He will also perform within the support program of this year MOFFOM festival.
We invite you for a second time to an overview of world-music films, organized in cooperation with MOFFOM Festival as part of the Muzika Etnika exhibition at the Czech Museum of Music. The program will be launched on September 24th with the screening of the film on Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars. This world-famous documentary tells the story of six refugees, victims of the brutal civil war in Sierra Leone, who created a band and found peace through music. Film screenings will take place from the 24th to 28th of September - the duration of the Muzika Etnika exhibition. Admission is included in the exhibit ticket price.
